Socorro Adventure Day 1: Thirst for Knowledge


Prelude to Socorro Adventure post here.

 

The truth is I am studying again. 

I've once written in this post GIFTED BUSINESS, that universities here in the US wanted me to retake all academic units in Masters in SPED-Gifted again (even if I finished all academic units in the Philippines already). Mmmm... I would rather study something new than pay to study the same thing!

So, I just decided to take the Praxis test in Gifted Education...

Thank God I passed it and was given a certification for it. Yay!

But, the bottom line is, I still don't have any Masters Degree in my credentials.

I have two choices, to finish my graduate studies online via schools in the Philippines offering online graduate courses or take it here. I chose the latter.


 So there it is, I spilled the beans! Lol!

Happy to be a student again!

- and lovin' it - even in the heat of the Socorro sun!

    I think you made the right choice. Learning isn't too efficient in virtual classrooms. :)

    Wow!! Try to enjoy being a student again, Gemma! I've actually thought about going back to school and studying a different course, but somehow felt like I was meant to do something else.. Heheh! Good luck with your new endeavor. :)

    I congratulate you for choosing the classroom setup rather than the online one. If I am going to make the decision I will also do the same thing because learning is more fun when you are inside a room with your classmates and professor instead of a virtual one where there will be a lot of distractions.

I do what I do

Writing is my outlet! I have been doing this since Grade 4. When I’ve written what I have in mind, I would sleep really well and would move on.  So, it’s like a therapy to me! Learning Life's Lessons!

I heard or read somewhere that life will continue to give us lessons until we learn it. Two weeks after graduating from college, I was already teaching college students.    I was so idealistic, perfectionist and wouldn’t tolerate students who were cheating, talking while I was teaching and not doing their work. Ye s , I was really strict! Many of my former students would attest to that! The thing was even if I knew I needed to change, I continued on doing what I was doing because I was afraid if I lost my control, if I became friendly and acted my age (I was just 20 then!, some of my students were even older than me!), I felt my students wouldn’t respect me and may took advantage of my kindness.
